6 payers entering new markets

From specialty Medicare Advantage plans to continued investment in care delivery services, these are six payers entering new markets, as reported by Becker's since April 1:

Taro Health is expanding plans to the Oklahoma exchange for 2024 in Oklahoma, Cleveland and Canadian counties, following its launch on the Maine exchange last year, according to a Sept. 21 news release shared with Becker's.

Gold Kidney Health Plan, a Medicare Advantage insurer offering chronic special needs plans, is expanding to Florida in 2024.

Independence Blue Cross partnered with financial services firm Sun Life to offer stop loss insurance to its self-funded group customers.

Molina Healthcare plans to purchase Bright Health Group's California Medicare Advantage business for $600 million. Molina will acquire 125,000 members in 23 California counties, which overlaps with around 60 percent of its current Medicaid footprint in the state. 

BCBS Arizona launched a new primary care company, Prosano Health Solutions, in Maricopa County, with three more locations opening in 2024. 

Humana will open seven new CenterWell primary care clinics in Tennessee this year. The company currently has 250 facilities across the country, with 30 to 50 more clinics expected by the end of 2025.
