UnitedHealthcare Medicaid CEO named COO at Optum Health

UnitedHealthcare Community & State CEO, Krista Nelson, has been named COO at Optum Health.

Ms. Nelson served as CEO of the company’s Medicaid division beginning in 2024, and she has been with the company since 2009.

“It has been an honor serving the millions of members of UnitedHealthcare in my time as CEO of UnitedHealthcare Community & State as well as prior roles leading Operations and Growth for the organization.” she wrote on LinkedIn May 22. “I am honored to join the talented Optum Health team and work with amazing colleagues to advance value-based care and improve the lives and outcomes of those we serve.”
