Longtime Centene executive Brent Layton is joining the board of directors for healthcare startup Homeward.
Mr. Layton is retiring from Centene in late 2023, according to a June 29 Homeward news release. He currently serves as a senior advisor and previously served as the payer's president and COO.
Homeward is a San Francisco-based startup that launched in March 2022 with the goal of increasing healthcare access to rural communities. It is an in-network provider that deploys an integrated care model including in-home visits, community-based care, and technology-enabled clinical services, according to the release.
Mr. Layton was also appointed to Sharecare's board in January.
