Providence Health Plan names Michael Mathias CIO 

Providence Health Plan has named Michael Mathias as its CIO, where he will oversee the strategy and adoption of information technology systems for the company.

Previously, he served as the executive vice president, CIO and executive vice president of customer service at Blue Shield of California, according to an Aug. 30 news release.

Prior to Blue Shield, Mr. Mathias was vice president and CIO at Aetna. He’s also been named in CIO Magazine’s CIO Hall of Fame.
