North Carolina Medicaid director set to retire

North Carolina Medicaid Director Dave Richard is retiring, effective Feb. 28, the Winston-Salem Journal reported Feb. 6.

Mr. Richard has served as the state’s Medicaid director for eight years, according to the report. During his time in the position, the state’s Medicaid program grew from 1.9 million to 2.9 million beneficiaries and from a $14 billion program to a $21 billion program.
