Dana Hittle’s permanent appointment comes as the state begins Medicaid eligibility renewals, according to a Feb. 23 Oregon Health Authority news release. The state is also preparing to implement a Section 1115 Medicaid to provide first-in-the-nation Medicaid coverage for medically necessary, short-term housing benefits, nutrition support and support to help people manage the effects of climate change.

Oregon Health Plan serves 1.48 million members, about 33 percent of the state’s population, according to the release.

Prior to serving as the interim director, Ms. Hittle served as the state’s deputy Medicaid director.
