Magellan Health names new CEO as former CEO moves to Centene

Magellan Health has appointed Derrick Duke as CEO, succeeding former CEO Ken Fasola. Mr. Fasola has been named executive vice president of health care enterprises at Centene.

Mr. Duke first joined the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Centene subsidiary in 2020 as chief risk officer. He then started as COO and CFO in January, according to a July 7 news release.

As CEO, he will be responsible for Magellan’s strategic direction, overall growth, and development and operational execution of business strategy. The position is also a part of Centene’s CEO office.
