Rachael Blucher will serve as L.A. Care Health Plan’s chief of government relations and external affairs, effective Oct. 5.
According to a Sept. 2 news release, Ms. Blucher will be responsible for overseeing advocacy and external engagement initiatives. She will collaborate with policymakers and government officials to advance the plan’s priorities, identify issues and strengthen healthcare outcomes throughout Los Angeles County.
Most recently, Ms. Blucher was a partner at Nielsen Merksamer, focusing on behavioral healthcare, delivery systems and health insurance policy, among other areas. Prior, she advised clients on reimbursement laws, compliance, contracting and other healthcare issues. She represented providers in administrative actions and guided organizations through regulatory steps for mergers and acquisitions.
“I look forward to working collaboratively with our government relations team, policymakers and stakeholders at a time when thoughtful, informed advocacy is more important than ever,” Ms. Blucher said in the news release.
