Highmark taps UnitedHealth exec to lead government business

Keith Payet is joining Highmark as the government business segment president, according to a June 8 news release.

Mr. Payet will focus on Medicaid, dual-eligible special needs plans, Medicare Advantage, Children’s Health Insurance Program and individual ACA offerings amid federal legislation affecting eligibility and reimbursements. He will also further relationships with governmental agencies, providers, vendors and community organizations.

Mr. Payet previously served as CEO for the Washington, Tennessee and Kentucky markets under UnitedHealthcare Community and State. In his most recent Washington position, Mr. Payet helped with Medicaid and Medicare market expansion and re-established profitability. He has spent 25 years leading substantial Medicaid, Medicare, compliance, and long-term services and supports organizations and projects.

Highmark’s government business encompasses more than 1.3 million people across Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
