EmblemHealth’s CEO, Mike Palmateer, has retired, according to a Sept. 17 news release.
Mr. Palmateer served as CEO over the past two years and has spent two decades with the insurer. The organization’s board of directors will begin an executive search process.
Karen Ignagni, EmblemHealth’s current executive board chair and former CEO, is reassuming the position. Prior to her tenure at EmblemHealth, she was president and CEO of AHIP.
“I look forward to once again working with the men and women of EmblemHealth who have transformed our plan and continue to make such a strong impact on the communities we serve,” she said in the news release.
