Doug Dietzman became president and executive director of health information network eHealth Exchange July 6, according to a news release.
He will focus on expanding nationwide interoperability, moving forward with modern standards and pushing the organization to act as a CMS-Aligned Network under the CMS Health Tech Ecosystem initiative.
Mr. Dietzman has more than two decades of healthcare experience. He was most recently managing director of interoperability solutions at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. He worked on interoperability, regulatory engagement, standards development and clinical data exchange efforts. Prior to that, he held leadership roles at Michigan Health Information Network and Great Lakes Health Connect.
Mr. Dietzman has served on the eHealth Exchange board of directors and previously represented health information exchanges on the eHealth Exchange Coordinating Committee.
The most recent president, Jay Nakashima, is semi-retiring after eight years at the helm. Mr. Nakashima supported eHealth Exchange in expanding and becoming one of the first Qualified Health Information Networks under the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement.
