Ms. Vogel was most recently director of population health initiatives for Danbury, Conn.-based Nuvance Health, according to a Nov. 9 news release from the office of Delaware Insurance Commissioner Trinidad Navarro.

In her role, Ms. Vogel will oversee Delaware’s efforts to make healthcare more affordable, including accessing provider reimbursement rates, utilization of services and prescription drug spending.

“Hospital prices, the cost of medications, and low-quality services all raise the price of consumer care and insurance coverage,” Mr. Navarro said in the release. “With Cristine’s expertise on board, we can keep making progress toward higher-quality care at a lower cost.”

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 17–19 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
