Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan President and CEO Brian O’Grady is retiring on Dec. 31.

Mr. O’Grady has served as the nonprofit health plan’s president and CEO since July 2024 and has been with the company since 2014.

“CDPHP has faced unprecedented financial headwinds in recent years, necessitating difficult decisions that tested our organization and our deeply valued stakeholders,” Mr. O’Grady said in an Oct. 14 news release. “Together with our parent organization, The Lifetime Healthcare Companies, we have made considerable progress, and after a great deal of personal reflection, I realize now is the time for me to step aside and let the next generation of leaders continue this journey.”

The health plan’s board of directors has begun the process of appointing a new CEO, according to the release.

CDPHP offers insurance plans to members in 36 counties across New York.
