Mr. Herndon was most recently executive vice president and chief business operations officer for the Hawaii Medical Services Association, according to a July 9 news release. Hawaii Medical Services Association operates Blue Cross Blue Shield of Hawaii.
Mr. Herndon has also served as the president of Hawaii operations for UnitedHealthcare.
Dayton, Ohio-based CareSource provides marketplace coverage in 17 North Carolina counties.
