California has appointed Tyler Sadwith as the state's Medicaid director.
Mr. Sadwith was previously deputy director of behavioral health at the California Department of Health Care Services, according to a March 13 news release from California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Before joining California's department of healthcare services, Mr. Sadwith was a consultant at Technical Assistance Collaborative and held several positions over seven years at CMS, including technical director.
California is in the process of overhauling its Medicaid program through a multiyear initiative designed to integrate Medicaid with other social services.
