Ms. Smith-Leslie previously served as New Mexico’s Medicaid director, according to a March 27 news release from the payer. She served in the role from 2015 to 2018, according to her LinkedIn page.
In her new role, Ms. Smith-Leslie will be responsible for the strategic direction and overall operations of BCBS New Mexico’s Medicaid division, according to the release. She succeeds Sharon Huerta, who is retiring May 5.
