9 top execs that have recently left Cigna

From its top attorneys to the president of its PBM, these are nine executive departures from the Cigna Group over the last year:

  1. Cigna's chief counsel for its finance, strategy and international divisions, Neil Boyden Tanner, was named global general counsel at Olympus Corp. in December.
     
  2. Cigna's Medicare and CareAllies president, Aparna Abburi, left the company in November, according to her LinkedIn.

  3. Cigna's chief human resources officer, Cynthia Ryan, left the company in October, according to her LinkedIn.

  4. Cigna's Arizona market president, Kim Shepard, joined digital employer health benefits startup Collective Health as SVP of of client success.

  5. Cigna's mid-Atlantic commercial market president, Monica Schmude, was named president at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Virginia.

  6. Cigna's general manager of strategy and operations for its government business segment, Casey McKeon, was named COO at in-home care company Monogram Health.

  7. Cigna's SVP and global lead of strategy and business development, Tom Richards, was named EVP of business development at digital health company Transcarent.

  8. Express Scripts president, Amy Bricker, left the company to become CVS Health's executive vice president and chief product officer-consumer. Cigna sued to block her from taking the new job, which is currently ongoing in court. 

  9. Cigna's SVP, chief counsel and corporate secretary, Julia Brncic, departed to become general counsel at EverQuote, an online insurance marketplace.
