13 recent payer exec moves

Here are 13 payer executive moves Becker's has reported since Oct. 4. 

  1. Retired Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina CEO Brad Wilson was appointed to the newly created advisory board for the digital therapeutics company Kaia Health.

  2. CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield named Charlene MacDonald chief government affairs officer. Most recently, Ms. MacDonald was senior managing director and head of healthcare and life sciences at FTI Consulting.

  3. Children's Wisconsin in Milwaukee promoted Mark Rakowski to president of its insurance division, Chorus Community Health Plans. He has worked for the organization for over 20 years. 

  4. AmeriHealth Caritas named Ash Hanson executive vice president and chief human resources officer. She joins AmeriHealth from food services, uniforms and facilities provider Aramark. 

  5. EHealth tapped Jana Brown to serve as senior vice president and chief people officer.  Ms. Brown joins eHealth from Centene subsidiary Centurion Health, where she served as executive vice president and chief human resources officer. 

  6. UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Oklahoma, the company's Medicaid and D-SNP division, named Mallory Van Horn CEO. Ms. Van Horn has been with the company since 2007. 

  7. TurningPoint Healthcare Solutions selected former UnitedHealthcare Chief Growth Officer Shawn Mobley to serve as its chief commercial officer.

  8. BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee promoted Neda Long to director of strategy and innovation.

  9. Sonder Health, a Georgia health plan provider, named Suzanna Roberts CEO and Michael Muchnicki president and chief growth officer. 

  10. Lumeris tapped Ben Grabski as CFO. He served as CFO of Lumeris' population health division and was previously health plan CEO of UnitedHealthcare's upper Midwest region.

  11. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico selected Marlene Baca as its vice president of sales. Ms. Baca has owned and operated the Baca Consulting Firm, which has provided strategic and marketing guidance to healthcare and health plans since 2016.

  12. Health Care Service Corp., the parent company of BCBS Texas, Illinois, New Mexico and Montana, named Anne Rote president of its Medicaid division. She previously served as plan president and COO at Molina Healthcare, vice president of Medicaid at Optum and CEO of Aetna's Medicaid operations in Texas.
