UnitedHealthcare, Phoenix Children's reach new deal just before deadline

UnitedHealthcare and Phoenix Children's reached an eleventh-hour agreement to keep the system's patients in network with the payer.

Phoenix Children's was set to go out of network with UnitedHealthcare if a new agreement was not reached before June 1. The multiyear agreement allows continued access for UnitedHealthcare members with employer-sponsored and individual commercial plans at  Phoenix Children's Medical Group and Phoenix Children’s Medical Group Urgent Care, according to a June 1 news release from the payer.

UnitedHealthcare's Medicaid members were not affected by the negotiation and remain in network through a separate agreement, according to the release.
