UnitedHealthcare, Oklahoma system strike deal ahead of deadline

UnitedHealthcare and Tulsa, Okla.-based Hillcrest HealthCare System have agreed to a new contract, avoiding a split that was set to take effect May 1 if no agreement was in place.

The agreement will keep the system in network with all Unitedhealthcare commercial and Medicare Advantage plans, according to an April 27 letter Hillcrest sent to patients. 

 Hillcrest HealthCare operates hospitals in six Oklahoma cities and more than 80 clinics in the region, according to its website
