Oklahoma hospital warning of possible UnitedHealthcare dispute ahead of enrollment deadline

UnitedHealthcare and Tulsa, Okla.-based Hillcrest HealthCare System will be out of network if the two sides do not reach a contract agreement by May 1, 2023, ABC affiliate KTUL reported Dec. 5.

The health system sent a letter to UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage members informing them of "pending network changes" ahead of the end of open enrollment.

"During the ongoing Medicare annual enrollment period, Hillcrest patients using a Medicare Advantage plan from United as their primary insurance can choose to stay with their Hillcrest providers by selecting another health plan contracted with Hillcrest," a spokesperson for the health system told KTUL

Hillcrest HealthCare operates hospitals in six Oklahoma cities and over 80 clinics in the region, according to its website.

The system's Utica Park Clinic and Oklahoma Heart Institute will remain in network with UnitedHealthcare, according to the letter sent to patients.
