The agreement restores network access to Broward Health hospitals, facilities and physicians for UnitedHealthcare members, including those enrolled in employer-sponsored, individual, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid plans, according to an Oct. 31 news release from the health system. The agreement went into effect Nov. 1.
The health system had been out of network with UnitedHealthcare since April 1 when the two sides were unable to come to an agreement on a new contract.
Broward Health CEO Shane Strum said in the news release the new contract is a “win for our patients.”
“As a safety net healthcare provider, Broward Health relies on fair and equitable reimbursement from our payer partners to ensure we can continue to provide the highest quality care to every patient who comes to us,” Mr. Strum said.
