The health system was set to go out of network with BCBS if a new agreement was not reached by Dec. 7. The system said in September that it was seeking a new contract with the payer that reimburses Baptist St. Anthony at a level that reflects the “extraordinary cost pressures around labor, supplies and inflation,” it continues to face.
Baptist St. Anthony said in an Oct. 31 news release shared with Becker’s that the sides worked together in good faith to reach an agreement that maintains in-network access to care for members of all BCBS plans. Specifics of the agreement were not disclosed.
Shara McClure, divisional senior vice president of health care delivery for BCBS of Texas, said in a statement shared with Becker’s the agreement “reflects our mutual commitment to our members, customers and BSA’s patients having access to high-quality and affordable care.”
