UnitedHealthcare, Centene, Elevance Health and other insurers have picked up Medicaid managed care contracts in 2025.
Here are three states awarding new contracts Becker’s has reported so far in 2025:
- Arizona awarded Medicaid long-term care contracts to UnitedHealthcare, Centene, Banner-University Care Advantage and Mercy Care after a yearlong dispute process.
- Illinois awarded dual special needs contracts to Humana, Molina Healthcare, Centene’s Meridian and Aetna. The Medicare-Medicaid contracts will go live in January 2026 and run through 2029.
- Nevada plans to award contracts to UnitedHealthcare, Elevance Health, Centene, Molina Healthcare and CareSource to manage the state’s Medicaid program, according to a notice of intent.
