The payer relocated the call center to Bethlehem from nearby South Whitehall Township in 2018. Aetna signed a 10-year lease for the property, the newspaper reported.

A spokesperson for CVS Health, Aetna’s parent company, told The Morning Call most employees working at the call center began working remotely during the pandemic and continue to do so.

“Based on our latest review, we are taking several steps to streamline our office footprint and enhance our shared work experience by co-locating teams where possible and reducing excess office space at a few of our leased properties,” the spokesperson said.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 17–19 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
