De’Shanel Childs joined UnitedHealthcare as its COO in Washington state, according to a recent LinkedIn post.
She had previously been a regional director of operations for Consumer Direct Care Network, a self-directed home care enterprise. Prior, Ms. Childs served in leadership capacities at Propeller Health, a former manufacturer under ResMed that worked on chronic disease products, as well as Elevance Health, Centene, TriWest Healthcare Alliance and the Hawaii Medical Service Association, her LinkedIn profile said.
“After spending the last few years on the care delivery side of healthcare, returning to the health plan side feels a little like coming home, but I’m coming back with a very different perspective,” she said. “I have an even greater appreciation for what it takes across the entire healthcare ecosystem to make things work for the people we serve.”
