Alvaro Molina will serve as interim South Florida market president for Florida Blue, effective June 12.
Mr. Molina, currently the Miami market leader, is taking over as David Wagner retires, according to a May 28 news release.
Mr. Molina has been with the insurer since 2023 and previously worked as a market CEO for Louisville, Ky.-based ScionHealth hospitals in Florida. In his new role at Florida Blue, Mr. Molina will focus on business operations and community engagement in the region.
Florida Blue said it would have an update on a permanent appointment in the coming months.
