Forbes recognized 11 health insurers on its 2026 list of “America’s Best Large Employers,” published Feb. 10.
In partnership with market research firm Statista, the publication surveyed more than 217,000 U.S. employees at organizations with more than 1,000 staffers. For the large employers list, companies with more than 5,000 employees were considered.
Survey respondents weighed in on wages, work environment, benefits and growth opportunities. Participants were also asked whether they would recommend employers. The top 700 companies made the list.
On 2025’s list, payers ranked higher, with BCBS North Carolina, Cambia Health Solutions and BCBS Tennessee scoring in the top 100. While most of last year’s insurers reappeared on the 2026 list, EmblemHealth, CareFirst BCBS and UnitedHealth Group did not make the cut.
