15 payers among Forbes’ best large employers | 2025

Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina is the highest-ranked health insurer on Forbes’ annual ranking of America’s best large employers.

The publication released its annual ranking of the best employers with more than 5,000 employees Feb. 12. The results are based on surveys of more than 217,000 employees. 

Survey participants were asked to rate their employer on pay, work environment, training programs and advancement opportunities. Survey respondents could also rate employers they worked at within the past two years, and employers they were familiar with in their industry or through family and friends.
