Point32Health, the parent company of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Health Plan, is laying off 254 employees in a second round of job cuts this year.

In March, the company eliminated 110 positions to “reduce administrative costs as medical and pharmaceutical trends continue to climb to unprecedented levels.”

“This was an incredibly difficult decision because it will affect many of our talented and dedicated colleagues. We are committed to supporting impacted colleagues during this transition,” Patrick Gilligan, president and CEO of Point32Health, said in an Oct. 20 news release shared with Becker’s.

The latest workforce reduction impacts employees across the company, which is providing severance packages and outplacement services.
