Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, the CMS administrator under the Biden administration, is joining the board of directors for Families USA, a health consumer advocacy organization.
Ms. Brooks-LaSure will help guide the organization’s efforts to advance health justice and economic security, including defending and protecting healthcare and coverage through programs like the ACA, Medicaid and Medicare, according to an April 25 news release.
“Her expertise and commitment to lowering the barriers to health care and coverage will help us in our work to build a health care system that is more accessible, affordable, and administratively simple for all Americans,” Families USA Executive Director Anthony Wright said in the release.
Before serving as CMS administrator, Ms. Brooks-LaSure was a policy official in the Obama administration. She joined the Century Foundation, a progressive think tank, as a senior fellow in February.
