UnitedHealthcare names chief operating officer

UnitedHealthcare has named Michael Baker as chief operating officer.

“It’s a privilege to lead our amazing team of people serving our UnitedHealthcare members, clients, providers, brokers and employees,” Mr. Baker said in a Feb. 16 LinkedIn post. 

According to UnitedHealthcare’s website, Mr. Baker previously led consumer operations for the insurer and was chief operating officer for provider operations. He joined UnitedHealthcare in 2013 as vice president of consumer services for the company’s Medicare business. 

Prior to joining UnitedHealthcare, Mr. Baker spent 10 years at financial services organization First Data Corp., according to his LinkedIn profile.
