Retiring Centene exec appointed to Homeward board

Longtime Centene executive Brent Layton is joining the board of directors for healthcare startup Homeward.

Mr. Layton is retiring from Centene in late 2023, according to a June 29 Homeward news release. He currently serves as a senior advisor and previously served as the payer’s president and COO. 

Homeward is a San Francisco-based startup that launched in March 2022 with the goal of increasing healthcare access to rural communities. It is an in-network provider that deploys an integrated care model including in-home visits, community-based care, and technology-enabled clinical services, according to the release. 

Mr. Layton was also appointed to Sharecare’s board in January.
