Doula services from a state-certified doula will be offered as a covered benefit to all Maryland Medicaid members during pregnancy and for one year postpartum, according to an April 20 news release.
The new program aims to reduce health disparities reported in Black women, along with improving health, mental health and birth outcomes. Mae also offers an engagement platform for members to track physical, social and emotional needs during pregnancy and postpartum.
