The university’s news outlet reported Nov. 28 that the two companies have inquired about the new program and are potentially interested in future partnerships.
UCR only began offering the degree this academic year and plans to include it in admissions applications in fall 2023. UCLA and UC Santa Barbara also offer actuarial science degrees, but only UCR will offer it through its business school.
The curriculum for the new degree includes business, statistics, and finance, along with a course called “Foundations of Insurance.” Graduates will also be prepped for industry exams.
