Humana is offering a voluntary early retirement option to some of its employees.
The buyout offer will be available for certain parts of the company and for employees who meet specific eligibility criteria, a spokesperson for the company told Becker’s on July 28.
“Those who qualify for this voluntary program and decide to take this option will be able to pursue new goals and interests while having the financial support that an early retirement package can help provide,” the spokesperson said. “We expect this program may be of interest to some eligible employees who have been considering their near-term retirement options, and we will take the utmost care to ensure each eligible employee has the support they need as they consider this next step in their career.”
It is unclear how many employees will receive the offer. At the end of 2024, Humana had more than 64,000 employees globally. The company recorded a net income of $1.2 billion in the first quarter of 2025, up from a net income of $741 million during the same period last year.
