The 130,000-square-foot building at 515 West Market Street will be used by the university’s Health Equity Innovation Hub — a center focused on research, talent development, entrepreneurship and innovation, according to a June 13 news release.

Humana recently vacated the building, but the new hub is a collaborative effort between the payer, its philanthropic foundation and the university that focuses on health equity, social determinants of health, and digital health and analytics.

“Humana is pleased to donate this building in the heart of downtown Louisville to UofL, and we continue to be strong supporters of the work being done to establish the Health Equity Innovation Hub,” said Nwando Olayiwola, MD, chief health equity officer and senior vice president. “Having the Hub in close proximity to our downtown offices will allow for better collaboration and ultimately will result in greater impact for the important work being done to solve health inequities.”
