The mean salary for chief executives at health and medical insurance carriers in 2024 was $392,520, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. 

The BLS published updated 2024 employment data on April 2. The mean wage for all occupations across the health insurance industry was $92,690. 

Here are the highest-paying jobs at health insurers: 

  1. Chief executives: $392,520
  2. Physicians: $230,290
  3. Lawyers: $210,840 
  4. Dentists: $209,500 
  5. Sales managers: $207,420
  6. Top executives: $200,270 
  7. Medical and health services managers: $195,490
  8. Advertising, marketing, promotions, public relations and sales managers: $184,980 
  9. General and operations managers: $184,870
  10. Human resource managers: $184,750
