30+ payers are among the nation’s best large and midsize employers

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee was ranked fourth overall in Forbes’ ranking of the top 500 large employers in America, and Excellus BlueCross BlueShield was ranked second among midsize employers.

Many of the industry’s largest insurers made the list, which includes companies and institutions with 5,000 employees or more, in addition to several state BCBS affiliates. 

Payers also had a presence on Forbes’ list of best midsized employers, which includes companies with 1,000 to 5,000 employees.

The rankings, published Feb. 15, are compiled from employee surveys.
