Twenty-one health insurance companies made the inaugural list of “America’s Best Employers For Company Culture” by Forbes and Statista, a Hamburg, Germany-based data analytics firm, published Sept. 18.

Forbes and Statista heard from over 218,000 workers at companies with at least 1,000 employees in the U.S. Over three years, the project gathered information on fairness, inclusivity and opportunity. The final list included the 600 top scorers based on this data, additional research and respondent recommendations.

Eleven of the 21 are Blue Cross and Blue Shield-affiliated organizations, spanning coast to coast. The highest ranked health payer is Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, taking the 10th spot overall.
