In a Sept. 29 news release, Mr. Eyles touted the benefits of Medicare Advantage, calling the program an essential partner in improving health equity among marginalized communities.

Average Medicare Advantage monthly premiums are projected to decrease around 8 percent from 2022, from $19.58 to $18, CMS said Sept. 29.

“Medicare Advantage is a prime example of the government and free market working together to deliver lower costs, more choices, and better outcomes for the American people,” Mr. Eyles said in the release. “AHIP will continue to work with the administration, Congress, and other stakeholders to ensure Medicare Advantage remains strong and vibrant for the millions of Americans who depend on it for good health.”

The open enrollment period for Medicare Advantage begins Oct. 15 and runs to Dec. 7. According to CMS, 31.8 million people are expected to enroll in these plans this year.
