Nearly 3.4 million people have signed up for ACA coverage since the open enrollment period began Nov. 1, or a 17 percent increase in enrollment since last year.
The new data from HHS was released Nov. 22 and represents plan selection activity through Nov. 19 for the 33 states that use the federal exchange and activity through Nov. 12 for the 16 states and Washington, D.C. that use their own exchanges.
Among all enrollees this year, 655,000 are new to ACA coverage and 2.7 million are returning. New exchange customers have risen nearly 40 percent compared to last year.
The open enrollment period ends Jan. 15, 2023.
