Philadelphia-based Independence Blue Cross is adding Keystone 65 Assured HMO, a Medicare Advantage plan with a $0 monthly premium, to its 2027 lineup ahead of the annual enrollment period, according to an Oct. 7 news release shared with Becker’s.
For 2027, members can choose from Keystone 65 HMO and HMO-POS options and Personal Choice 65SM PPO plans, according to IBX. Many of these plans offer low or $0 monthly premiums, $0 primary care visits and preventive care at no extra cost, along with medical and prescription drug coverage.
IBX said it built Keystone 65 Assured for members who want lower monthly costs. The Keystone 65 Select HMO offers a low maximum out-of-pocket limit, low copays on many services and no Part D deductible, according to the release.
Other 2027 benefits include $0 copays on select drugs at preferred pharmacies, 100-day supplies of select medications and $0 telemedicine visits. Select plans also cover vision, hearing and dental. The IBX Care Card puts up to $300 in annual healthy rewards on one card, along with up to $300 a year in over-the-counter benefits for eligible plans.
“Medicare beneficiaries are facing more choices and continued change in today’s market,” said Kortney Cruz, senior vice president of government markets at IBX. “Our focus is straightforward: offer affordable coverage, access to trusted doctors and hospitals, and benefits that help people stay healthy and independent.”
Ms. Cruz said the 2027 Medicare Advantage portfolio is designed to deliver on those priorities.
Medicare annual enrollment runs Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. IBX said it will contact members affected by 2027 plan changes directly to help them evaluate their coverage.
