Current beneficiaries of Med-QUEST, the state’s Medicaid program, will continue to be covered through at least the end of the year without interruption. There will be exceptions for those who voluntarily ask Med-QUEST to end their coverage, those who have moved out of state or those who are deceased, according to a Sept. 10 news release from the governor’s office.
Hawaii had previously paused redeterminations for Maui County residents for the remainder of 2023.
If Med-QUEST can successfully renew a beneficiary’s eligibility at this time, a coverage confirmation letter will be mailed to that person, according to the release. If Med-QUEST is unable to renew coverage, a member’s renewal date will be pushed to a new month after the pause.
