CMS approves mobile crisis services for Medicaid enrollees in California, Kentucky 

CMS has approved proposals from California and Kentucky for community-based mobile intervention teams to provide behavioral crisis services to Medicaid enrollees.

In total, six states have now expanded access to the crisis care flexibilities through the American Rescue Plan, according to a July 20 news release.

California and Kentucky’s Medicaid programs will now be able to provide 24/7 mobile crisis teams year-round. The intervention teams aim to provide rapid response, individual assessment, and crisis de-escalation through behavioral health professionals and other referred services as needed.
