Children’s Community Health Plan is southeast Wisconsin’s largest health plan for individuals eligible for BadgerCare Plus, the state’s Medicaid program. The health plan recorded $237.8 million in operating revenue last year and oversees 135,000 BadgerCare Plus recipients.
As some health insurers leave the ACA marketplace, — Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield is leaving Milwaukee and two other counties — Children’s Community Health Plan’s decision to offer coverage on the federal exchange will extend the plan to six southeastern counties, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
Most of Children’s health plans will be linked to the Integrated Health Network of Wisconsin and other healthcare providers, like community health centers. Children’s will file rates to state and federal regulators July 15 and await final approval in August. Rates will be publicly available in October.
