UPMC said in the report that the 12 percent growth was primarily attributable to the expansion of its behavioral health and Medicaid products into new regions of eastern Pennsylvania.
Its Medicaid membership grew from 578,951 at the end of March 2022, to 760,989 at the end of the same month in 2023, according to the report.
Behavioral health membership grew from 1,287,924 to 1,512,257 over that time period.
UPMC saw its commercial health membership decline from 609,232 to 572,551 over that time period. Medicare membership increased from 199,657 to 206,011.
