Virginia health system ending its Medicare Advantage plan

Fredericksburg, Va.-based Mary Washington Healthcare will not offer its Medicare Advantage plan in 2024, the Free Lance-Star reported Oct. 11.

The plan's third-party administrator will not provide services in 2024, the primary reason for the plans' closure, the outlet reported.

Mary Washington launched the plan in 2020. It currently has around 2,600 enrollees who will need to find new coverage for 2024. According to the Free Lance-Star, there are 31 Medicare Advantage plans available in the Fredericksburg area, and Mary Washington Healthcare is in-network with 21 of these plans.
