Under the agreement, UnitedHealthcare’s Medicare Advantage members gained in-network access to Oak Street Health’s 14 primary care centers across Illinois, effective Nov. 1. On Dec. 1, members also gained access to the health system’s two locations in northwestern Indiana.
The value-based network model is available to UnitedHealthcare’s 20,000 Medicare Advantage members in and around Chicago. Over the last three years, the insurer tripled the number of payments it pays to providers based on value to $54 billion-plus nationwide.
