UnitedHealthcare aims to help consumers navigate benefits with new digital offerings

UnitedHealthcare members enrolled in employer-sponsored health plans have new digital health resources at their disposal this year.

Here are three things to know.

1. UnitedHealthcare's digital onboarding is available to employers with 101 to 3,000 workers. The offering uses an online survey to help beneficiaries select the most appropriate coverage for them, the insurer said in a statement. Employees identify the most appropriate plan based on personal health and financial preferences.

2. Apple Pay will be available to UnitedHealthcare members enrolled in individual and employer-sponsored health plans with an Optum Bank health savings account.

3. The insurer is also offering video explanations of benefits to most of its members enrolled in individual and employer-sponsored health plans. UnitedHealthcare said the videos aim to help members understand more about their coverage and potential out-of-pocket costs. Eligible members will be able to access the videos early this year on their desktop computers and mobile devices.
